Detailed water maps. Non-intrusive techniques. Affordable solutions. Quick reports.
AQUA-EXPLORE website has been designed accordingly to the 'Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0', provided by workgroup WAI, who belongs to W3C (World Wide Web Consortium)
The main goal of this guidelines is to make Internet technology access easier for all citizens. Some of the guidelines such as:
Language used for content and structure is XHTML 1.0 Strict, and to display elements CSS (Cascade Style Sheet) 2.0 has been used. All webpages have been validated.
All important images contain a short description by means of the "alt" tag. The rest of images are decorative or belong to the design of the web, included as backgrounds.
Every single link is marked as "external" if it points to other URL
Text size fonts have relative dimensions (em or %), which allows user to change the size at will, using the browser. However, buttons that perform the same function have been added to the main template, storing preference in a cookie
The website provides a redundant navigation system, keeping the same structure across pages. This structure is:
A horizontal menu bar in upper part of the page; another menu with vertical view which includes a pathway and a small list of main links at the bottom
